Art Studio in Biot France

The art studio in Biot France has a very rare interior, housing an original 200 year old olive oil press. It was refitted 40 years ago to replace some missing or broken pieces but all the components are exactly as they were. It was actually operated by a donkey, underground (poor donkey) that would turn the moulin and the huge rock plate in order to press the olives. This is the only one of its kind in Biot village (there were very popular in french villages in that era but many in the surrounding areas have either been converted or closed to the public. The building itself, and the surrounding properties extremely old and beautiful, and a valued part of heritage here, a site of historical value.

I discovered this beautiful Art Studio in Biot, whilst I was looking for a new studio space in the surrounding area between Nice and Cannes and as soon as i saw it, it was love at first sight. I never feel alone if  i’m in there printing and it adds a wonderful ambience to an already special and inviting space.

You must come and see for yourself!
